Stäfeli history
History of Hotel and Holiday Inn in Vorarlberg
We are often asked where the name comes from
Stäfeli is an old name of a field near the Furka and the Steinmähder Lift - thus in the heart of the skiing area. We chose this name from an old landscape map.
The Stäfeli was built by us, Heinz and Gitti Birk, in 1992. Stephanie was born in 1993 and has since been the family's ray of sunshine.
In 1998 we decided to undertake a large extension. A super holiday apartment with 80m², and our wellness complex, the breakfast room, the office, ski room, kitchen and the "s'Achtele" Wine Restaurant all found their place here.
In the spring of 2003, we built some new rooms for our staff, garage space for our guests and a suitably large wine store for our wine trade (over 2,000m³ excavation).
In 2003, our hotel was extended with a winter garden in the area of the breakfast room. This is used above all for cosy hours of reading and the afternoon snack.
We now offer our guests a larger offer of space after the Lech motto - more space, more time!
In 2007, our community will acquire a thermal power station and in the course of the connection to this distance heating plant there will be further necessary rebuilding in the hotel.
The breakfast buffet area will be extended, an "ice shower" will function as a cold room in the wellness area and the 50m² holiday apartments will be given a facelift.
We constantly endeavour to offer our guests a pleasant, cosy and modern atmosphere. Further rebuilding and extensions will follow in the coming years (always outside of the seasons and you will therefore not be irritated by building noise...)
